This area has been added to the web site to give classmates a place to comment on whatever is on their minds. I hope you find it useful.

I learned today that my roommate during my freshman year at Purdue passed away recently. Man, do I feel old.

I will be in Bedford on Oct 20th and will be having lunch with Joanie and Jim. Please consider joining us at Pappa's on Washington Avenue at 11:30 AM. Let Joanie or myself know if you will be there so we'll know how many tables to push together!

I really hated to hear the sad news about Donnie. We used to have such a great time together. Sounds as if his life was pretty tough. I'll be thinking of him and his family.

Hi everyone, I think I'm enrolled in the blog at this point. I'll give it a go at any rate. Just a note to all wishing you a Merry Christmas. Both my wife and I have had rounds with cancer. Like Steve, I would get a message to Rick if I had an address; I would like to lend support. So long for now. Am ready to see all of you at lunch, etc. Would love to chat with you. Kindest regards. I can't believe I finally am posted to this blog! As some of you know, Donnie called me a couple of weeks before he died. I did not get back to him from a voice mail and am heartsick that I could have listened and been a friend to him again after all these years, and because I was so "busy" I failed to get back to him in time. Just a note to Steve Clark: one of the last mental impressions I have of the two of us is an evening at Papaw Graham's; we were trying to tune an old guitar and sing. What a howl that must have been for your patient, loving grandparents. And Pearl just smiled and encouraged us. Also, I remember the WWII vintage jeep that Cleetus kept running for us and those close calls with that wild machine in the ditches and ravines in Elmer's woods. It's a wonder we made it. I don't think we had a worry in the world in those days. (I'm sure we did; they just vaporized as did the time that passed with them.) I was saddened to hear of your Mom's recent passing. She and Thelma were two of my favorite people. I would love to sit down with any and all to chat, laugh, and remember. Love and kindest regards, Bill Brock

While I'm on a roll here. I want to thank all who sent Christmas cards. We have had a hectic couple of weeks. My sister, Leeann, had bariatric surgery yesterday, (Friday) at St. Vincent's (Carmel). She came through fine although she has a long road ahead. She had the gastric bypass (laproscopic) and her "meals" will consist of a tablespoon of ice chips and/or powdered milk mixed with whole milk (Yummy) Anyway, she needs your prayers and healing thoughts. Kindest regards, Bill

A good time was had by all at the July 26th luncheon and it was great to again see some who hadn't been to any of the others come to this one. New faces included Vickie Valdez, Debbie Williamson, Twila Terrell, Sonja Stevens, Bill Ray, John Fish and Dexter Roberts. By my count 24 different folks have shown up at the three luncheons we've had. I think it's great we've been able to get this many folks together--try and join us at the next one at a date yet to be determined.

Hello Everyone,
I appreciate this site so I can see what is happening with everyone
I know that we are all so very busy with our own lives. I just returned from a small vacation in the North West; Oregon and Washinton. It was great, the weather cooperated and everyone I set out to see, I was able to visit.
I was having some health problems again, and I have been diagnosed by four well known medical doctor's at Southwest Medical School, that I have blood and bone cancer. I felt bad for a short time, and completed every test nd medical exam required. Funny, I don't feel like a dead woman, nor do I feel like I am dying. Maybe because I have endured so much before, I am toned up to the pain. OH well, please keep me in your prayers.
Love and God be with each and everyone of you.

Hi Vicki,

Just a note to assure you that my family will be holding you up in our prayers every day.

Much love, Bill Brock

Vicky;

You hang in there girl. Doctors are great for diagnosis and treatments their prognosis are merely a statistical guess. It’s important to follow their advice and equally important that you “drive the truck”. By that I mean research, acceptance, lifestyle changes and prayer are as important.

My doctor and longtime friend refers to me as “the man who came back from the dead twice”. Today they can find nothing wrong with me (physically that is).

It is what it is but a strong mind and strong faith can make a world of difference (I remember you possess those). You are first in our prayers.

Raymond Paledino

April 1, 1947 — Nov. 4, 2009

MITCHELL — Raymond “Buddy” Paledino left us on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009. He left behind family and friends broken hearted and lost. To his wife and children, Cathie, Alycia, and Sam Paledino, he was fearless and indomitable. To us, he was bigger than this life. We will never see his like again. We love him much.

He was born April 1, 1947, in Alabama, to Joe and Jane Paledino. His parents, Joe and Ruby Paledino, preceded him in death. Left behind are sisters, Sally Covey Burton and husband Jack of Orleans, Cathy Paledino Horner and husband John of Indianapolis, and one brother Joey Paledino and his companion Regina Chapman of Bedford.

Buddy had earned Eagle Scout distinction in high school, he graduated from Shawswick High School in 1965. As a young man, he served two tours in the Vietnam War. He was a tool & die maker at GM Powertrain in Bedford, retiring in 2006. He was a member of UAW Local No. 440, and member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club.

Family and friends may share Buddy stories at 9 a.m. on Nov. 10 at the Bedford Boat Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cresthaven Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Planned Parenthood of Indiana, 717 Lincoln Ave. Bedford, IN 47421.

I think it was Thomas Campbell who said; :"To live on in the hearts of others is not to die". Just got the email re Steve Hignite he is in my thoughts though it seems too many of these types of emails lately. My wish is for Steve's challenge to become everything he and his family pray for it to be.

With age I suspect we must become accustomed to the frequency of such physical weakening s. The metamorphic wonder of the soul is eternal (I had to paraphrase that and I can't remember who said it).

I still want to wish everyone the very best of holidays and an absolutely awesome 2012
